Me and my boyfriend have been playing Valheim for 35 hours. We have defeated two bosses and next are going to take down the third. Boyfriend is frustrated and says we proceed too slow.

Problem is I'm more of a builder and explorer and for bf it's more about progression and boss fighting. I'm not that good at fighting and would happily like to build our base and gather food resourses and at some point go to next boss.

Yesterday we got a massive fight where I cried my eyes out since my bf was yelling at me that I don't do enough resource gathering meaning iron gathering and armor and weapon preparation for the next boss.

Also everytime when I am building our base my bf gets angry and starts to complain about the game not progressing.

I'm happy to go to gather iron together with him but I don't like swamps and fighting in the crypts. I have been preparing poison resistance meads for us but bf still nags that we need MORE IRON.

At this point I don't know how me should proceed. We talked and it seems that my bf just wants to take down the bosses and the game is done. Meanwhile I really enjoy slower approach to the game and base building and exploration.

I read online that the game gets more difficult when you beat bosses so I guess my peaceful home building simulation will be doomed anyway.. But building is still the thing what I enjoy the most in this game.

I have suggested that we invite some of our friends to help with the boss fighting but bf says he wants to play with me.

If our approach to the game is this different is there any way we can both enjoy the game? Should I just give up on building and treat this game as a bossfighting simulation or should we just not play together?

P. S. I can't even look at the buildings here in reddit 'cause I get so jealous that some people are allowed to use their gaming time on buildings.
