I got a rescue quest for a 10 year old girl being guarded by 1 outlander and 4 turrets. Right now I'm playing tribals so I would have just ignored the call, but she's a CHILD, I couldn't not help! I sent three colonists with four elephants to the location, forced my poor elephants to take all of the turret damage and cleared the map.

It was then that I actually looked at the prison cell in the center of the map. There was no 10 year old girl named Soniai waiting to be rescued. Instead there was a 51 year old man named Danny being held hostage.

Now game wise, I know it was probably one of my mods causing a bug or something.

Storywise, I feel like I was catfished because Danny knew I would have more sympathy for a child, and I am very offended.

Screw you, Danny.

PSA: Child soldiers make elite droptroops

So today I was raiding nearby colonies with transport pods and was struck by a revelation. Because transport pods are limited to 150kg, you can usually only fit two colonists inside the drop pod, however because they have a lower weight you can fit several children in a drop pod easily.

I used this to drop fifteen child soldiers, hopped up on GoJuice, directly on top of some pigmen today, they never knew what hit them.
