He naturally hated the ASG like everybody else. It's in the latest episode of The Lowe Post (he ranted about it for the first 10 minutes).

He says it sends the message to the fans that all of these games are worthless and, as now evident by the record low viewership numbers, not really followed by anyone.

I think the league need a dramatic incentive for the players, and it has to be some sort of playoffs-related thing, but I'm not sure what. It's harder to do with the (admittedly fun) draft. Maybe if you're on the winning team you get home court advantage over players who lost (if applicable)?
