Two chocks 29 feet apart were supporting the boiler, which was raised at each end in turn by hydraulic jacks, and the height made good by adding wood to the chocks. Deceased's marrow narrowly escaped. The deputy had been in the place about an hour before when it appeared safe. There was an ample supply of timber. The Local Inspectors made no report |

When the shot exploded a stone was projected and struck him on the head and he died in a few hours.
