We bought this house in January of 2020. Before we purchased it, it was neglected by the current owner and more problems like this are starting to pop up. I don’t think it’s structural issue, just a bad drywall job from some other issues we’ve found so far.

Edit: to answer some of the questions that have come up a few times. There are no other areas having issues in the house including anywhere else around this part. All doors and windows are opening and closing normally. There are no cracks or anything along the foundation around the house. We have had experience on other drywall projects in the house where the builder just didn’t do them right. Like leaving whole sections without nailing or screws.

As far as the home inspector goes. The gentleman who did it has been in business for 30+ years, and his mom lives 3 doors down from us. He had nothing to gain by telling us everything was fine under the house if it wasn’t, so I trust he did a thorough review.

Our next steps are to get a GC involved and look under the house and tear out some of the drywall to get a look at what’s going on behind the scenes.
