During my holiday vacation, I built a built-in entertainment center. I worked about 70 hours on this project and spent around $1000.

Materials:

  • Six Sheets of 3/4"x4'x8' Sanded Plywood - $380

  • 120' of primed, popular trim boards - $120

  • Twelve 12' Shiplap boards - $180

  • One sheet of 1/4" sanded plywood (lower backing) - $25

  • One 16' piece of 9/16 x 5 1/4' primed, colonial baseboard - $45 (WTF??)

  • One 16' piece of crown molding - $45

  • One Gallon of Primer - $23

  • One Gallon of Paint - $53

  • Stain - $7

  • 1 3/4" trim screws - $13

  • 2 1/2" star-drive screws - $20

  • 1 1/2" flat-head, star-drive screws (for lower backing) - $13

  • Consumables (glue, rags, brushes, sandpaper, sanding sponges) - $40
