So my friend purchased a new house and she was giving away the stove that came with the house. I told her that I would take it since she was going to discard it and it would look nice in my house since the stove was the last appliance that I wanted to replace considering my range was black and hers was stainless steel.
When the stove was loaded on the truck the glass just shattered and I was in shock. I was like well I will order a new glass since this stove was a gift to me. Low and behold when I went online GE wanted $800 for the door with ASM glass and they did not sell the glass by itself for it was bonded.
I was like I am not paying $800 for a door to replace for this range. I decided that I would replace the glass myself because I am a DIY'er and will fineagle a way to do something to save money.
I went to Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, and my last option was the dump to look for a similar model that I could either replace the door or at least the panel.
I had my nephews measure the door and I was like I need to know what this glass looks like "behind" the door. Note; No where online can you see what the glass looks like behind this GE Profile Double Oven Range (stove) so I was like let me take the door off and have a look. I was suprised that the glass was not around the entire door but just around the frame or outline of the door. Here is the picture of the stove.
When you go to remove the stainless steel panel there are screws at the bottom of the door so I just unscrewed the screws.
