That weight gain sounds pretty healthy and normal. Since one of the criteria of anorexia nervosa is being underweight, it’s actually necessary to gain weight in recovery.

But, honestly, the weight you say you’ve gained is pretty minimal. If you were underweight, you might need to gain more than that to be at a healthy weight. If you weren’t, that’s still totally normal and ok. It would probably be best for your recovery if you stepped away from the scale.

Gaining weight is not bad, and it doesn’t mean your recovery is somehow wrong. It just means that your body is coming back to a healthier state than when you were restricting.

It would be a good idea to talk to a professional about your recovery, but gaining weight is normal and ok.
