Afrofuturism is an emergent literary and cultural aesthetic that combines elements of science fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, Afrocentricity, and magic realism with non-Western cosmologies in order to critique not only the present-day dilemmas of people of color, but also to revise, interrogate, and re-examine the historical events of the past.

Swordsfall is a hybrid of fantasy, modern and Afrofuturism. The world of Tikor is one where the gods are alive and they live amongst the very humans they created.
The Divine Age ends, however, when a deity is assassinated for the first time in recorded history. A rival nation is framed for the killing and a war of worldly proportions breaks out that ends the Era.

Ecopunk is an unofficial genre of fiction that focus on themes like infrastructure, production cycles, trade, shipping, entrepreneurship, and people trying to make a living in a world influenced by these concepts.
- The focus is not a "green" future, even if could be. "Ecology" simply means "the relationships between living organisms, including humans, and their physical environment", so Ecopunk highlights and romanticises the practical details of everyday life.
