Bitcoin is the currency of the Internet: a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Unlike traditional currencies such as dollars, bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. As such, it is more resistant to wild inflation and corrupt banks. With Bitcoin, you can be your own bank.

When r/Bitcoin moderators began censoring content and banning users they disagreed with, r/btc became a community for free and open crypto discussion. This happened long before the creation of Bitcoin Cash. Today, r/btc users can discuss any Bitcoin-related topic without fear of moderator retaliation, while r/Bitcoin and r/CryptoCurrency are still heavily censored. Over the years /r/btc became community of historians & torchbearers, preservers of Satoshi's Bitcoin for future generations.

I wanted to warn adoptees that r/Adoption is not a safe space for us. It looks like the mods there are actively hunting down "angry adoptees" and silencing us.

Since I'm permanently banned at r/Adoption and can't post and discuss it there, I wanted to share the message I sent the r/Adoption mods today.

Here's what I sent:

So why am I banned now? I got a three-day ban for reasons, which was then made permanent without explanation. And the person who banned me (who I really liked) is now "user not found". So I got permanently banned by someone who then banned themselves?

u/campbell317704, you specifically called me out for saying "womb-wet." Your pre-written rebuke of me was formatted with links and read like it had been approved by a committee, but did you ever check to see if I had actually said "womb-wet"?

No, you didn't. Because in the past when I was asked to stop saying that, I STOPPED SAYING IT. I complained, and bitched, and responded to other people saying it, but I DID NOT SAY IT ANYMORE.

You put plenty of other links in your rebuke, so why not link my "womb-wet" comments? Because you can't.

I feel like I have been unfairly targeted and harrassed. You had a mission to smack down "angry adoptees" and I was the obvious target. You've hounded me and nit-picked every fucking word I say.

I know you don't like to hear it, but "angry adoptees" are a significant and vocal part of the "triad" (puke) and you are consistently censoring and silencing us.

Because I can't even see the mod list anymore, I don't know who the adopted mods are, but whoever they are, they aren't representing adoptees. Hell, I think you should have an "angry adoptee" among the moderators to represent a significant part of the community.

Instead of accepting that some adoptees are "angry," you scold and smackdown and tell us to use our inside voice. Boy does that sound familiar to an adoptee.

You've let this sub become unbalanced in favor of adopters, to the point you actively hunted me down and banned me for something I didn't even say.

What the fuck? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I was adopted as a baby. I’m proud to say I’m adopted and that my bio mom only being 18 made the choice that many others were so against. I have a wonderful relationship with her.

What’s pissing me off: I’ve seen MULTIPLE Tik Tok Live’s and Instagram Live’s of people who aren’t adopted and a few who are.

A woman from last night who I watched on Tik Tok doesn’t have adopted kids and isn’t adopted herself. She called herself a “adoption abolitionist” claiming that adoption is ruining America. That adoption is only about families getting what they want. She went on to read from a book I can’t think of the name of it and I wish I wrote it down, but from what she was reading it was fueling the ideas that adoption is just “legal human trafficking”.

I understand if you’re upset about how your story went or how you’ve seen things happen in rare cases. I truly feel for those who’ve been in those situations and wish them nothing but love. You’re taking away millions of kids opportunities by trying to ban or even abolish the foster care systems and adoption agencies.

I’m not here saying there aren’t flaws, I do wish they gave more psychological resources and gave parents a more trauma infused talk about what things can occur, but that doesn’t mean you can just go out and start abolishing all forms of adopting.

Edit: Holy cow, thank you all for your stories and your side of things. I’m someone who’s open to all sides of things. I didn’t expect this post to blow up the way it did
