We open sourced 20 repos om https://github.com/fltrWallet We are a general purpose Bitcoin wallet using only compact filters to sync. And we are quite fast at it comparatively speaking. We can synch from 2014 in way less than half an hour. We even have a MetalKit experimental filter engine. Check it out! And it’s not a rebranded open source project. The only non-Apple dependency is libsecp256k of Bitcoin Core. Everything else is implemented from scratch, including a multi peer Bitcoin client. All asynchronous code. It’s mostly Swift/SwiftUI native with some C for performance critical improvements or interoperability.
I just posted this new fltrWallet Bitcoin Wallet for Apple devices (iOS, iPadOS and macOS) after three years of development. It is a general purpose Bitcoin wallet solely based on compact filter architecture, with full wallet recovery (BIP39). As such it never reveals anything about your public key or transaction history. It is made from the bottom up to protect your privacy and does not connect to third party services, except for fee estimation (through mempool.space). It is very fast for what it does and can sync all the way back to 2014 when seed phrases were invented in less than 30 minutes on a semi modern iPhone. It also supports and recovers Taproot addresses as well as BRD wallets.

I think you would have to be either crazy or stupid to trust this wallet.
Also, Apple does a very extensive app review of intermediate code on crypto apps. In our case ten business days. It is highly unlikely that a scammer would make it through.
All the more likely they have improved their review process.
