You don't need to sell to transfer out of the ISA. If you find another provider who will accept it you can transfer UK and USA stock without selling.
Does HL do stocks and share transfers
I have a general FreeTrade GIA account, and want to transfer my shares to my HL ISA.
You can't transfer stocks into an isa that aren't already in an ISA, because all new funds into an ISA have to be cash.
If you want to transfer a gia to a non isa hl investment account then ask HL if they will arrange that for you.

I've worked out that it would be cheaper to sell my US shares at 4.5% FX rate on, say 1 April, then the £17 fee Freetrade are charging for moving it over
Certainly a. lot cheaper than waiting till 11 April, with a 1% FX fee for selling my US shares.

It's just the fee for trading in foreign currencies, they can't buy US/EU stocks in pounds, so have to do the converting for you.
Just like an a Bureau de change you won't get the "actual" rate
It already was 0.45% I think, so it's more but it isn't like it didn't exist in the first place
If you only hold UK stocks in a GIA, don't worry.

Are they bought on ETH network, or via a Layer 2 (Arbitrum Nova or MATIC ?)
Is it a case of just making a small profit of them? Say if you bought an avatar for $9.99, the market would only determine that you would only get probably $20.00 for it?
