China's 4th largest city: 5 million people under lockdown/Foxconn hires 25,000 workers in India
#chinainsights#Chinacovid
A large group of victims falling to the draconian lockdown measures of the Chinese Communist Party, or CCP, are college students. They are locked up on campus for long periods of time. What you see now is the nighttime schoolyard of the Communication University of China in Beijing. Students are crawling in a circle on the field in front of the university's library.
So, is this strict containment policy really working to curb the outbreak in the metropolis? More and more Chinese people are realizing that something has gone wrong here, including those working on the front lines of epidemic prevention.

Rare unrest in Chinese city of Guangzhou as people protest over Covid restrictions
Protesters poured out onto the streets of the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou in a rare demonstration against strict Covid-19 restrictions.Â
Subscribe to Guardian News on YouTube âş http://bit.ly/guardianwiressub
Video circulating on social media showed crowds of people marching through the Haizhu district, breaking Covid barriers in noisy scenes. Cases have also been rising in other large Chinese cities, including Beijing, Chongqing and Zhengzhou. China still operates a policy of strict lockdowns and quarantines even after small outbreaks, which it says are necessary for public safety.Â

Nancy Pelosiâs recent visit to Taiwan has increased the ongoing tensions between China and the US over Taiwan, over which China vowed to âtake resolute and forceful measures.â But what do ordinary Chinese think about their relationship to Taiwan?
A little while ago, we conducted a street interview in Taiwan to get ordinary Taiwanese citizensâ opinions on China. Be sure to check out the video for some context âş https://youtu.be/C0YGLDafG1o
We acknowledge that this is a very sensitive topic in China but we want to make it very clear, again, that we do not seek or possess any governmentâs permits for our street interviews in China. Itâs actually pretty tough for us to put a video like this together but we can assure you that none of our interviewees get paid to share their thoughts and our team is standing out on the street to approach people for many hours a day. Itâs all our Asian Boss community members, fans and freelancers who make these videos possible.
The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Chinese population.
0:00 - Intro
1:30 - Are you okay speaking about this topic?
1:57 - What kind of news do you hear about Taiwan from Chinese media?
3:32 - What is your personal impression of Taiwan?
5:20 - Reactions to âTaiwanese on Chinaâ video
10:09 - What do ordinary Chinese citizens think about the Taiwan sovereignty issue?
15:03 - Do you think China would use force to unify with Taiwan?
16:31 - How sensitive is it to talk about Taiwan in China?
19:54 - How do you respond to those accusing our interviewees of being paid actors?
20:59 - Message to Taiwanese and Western audience
