To all those saying the bottom is in... take a step back from crypto. by TheElusiveFox in CryptoCurrency

[–]Strict_Resist5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing crypto influencers seem to conviniently forget about when they make their bottom predictions using historical metrics, is that every time we bottomed out in past situations the macro economy was OK, it was the the crypto cycle that was reaching a low and that's it.

The macro right now is really bad, and we are yet to see the fed pivot, wich will further dump the markets. It is the first time crypto is going through a cycle within a possible world wide recession.

Not everyone that lost money with FTX is a gambling degenerate.

There were also good people, that trusted a company and lost all of their money.

Yea, it is a lesson to be learned by all of us, including them but man have a little empathy ffs.

Shark Tank Episode

Kevin O’Leary: What have you got for us today, Johnathan?

Johnathan: Well, Mr. O’Lear—

Kevin O’Leary: Call me Mr. Wonderful.

Johnathan: Okay, Mr. Wonderful. I’ve invented a device which allows you to self-custody all of your digital assets. I call it a cold wallet. It’s highly secure, air-gapped, and—

Kevin O’Leary: Johnathan, I’m going to go ahead and stop you right there. I’m out. This idea sounds dumb to me. I mean, self-custody, cold wallet? Who would ever use it. I certainly wouldn’t. I’m gonna pass.

What is the most tinfoil theory about crypto that you have?? by semprenobre88 in CryptoCurrency

[–]Strict_Resist5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok i'll go tinfoil on this one:

Satoshi Nakamoto is Nick Szabo

Nick Szabo, is a computer scientist, and cryptographer who developed a similar decentralized digital currency called Bit Gold in the 1990s.

Szabo has denied being Nakamoto, but there are some similarities between the two men. For one, they both have a background in cryptography. Secondly, Szabo’s writing style is similar to Nakamoto’s. Finally, both men have advocated for decentralization and anonymity.

If true, it would be an incredible story of a man who created two of the most important inventions in the digital age: Bitcoin and Bit Gold.
