I know that the data show this over and over, and not just on Twitter, but I also know a lot of conservatives swear it's the other way. Their perception that they are censored and where that comes from is not a total accident.

Elon claims it's "objectively the case" that Twitter affected βconservativeβ? candidates more negatively than βprogressiveβ? candidates.
But every empirical study ever done - including by Twitter itself! - shows the opposite. Musk is a conspiracy theorist.

βYes, but heβs a guide dog who are allowed by lawβ?
βI understand sir but itβs still a dog and we donβt allow dogs in here. Iβm afraid Iβm going to have to ask you to leaveβ?

πQuick note: No, I'm not an alarmist. I'm in public health; this is what we do. Thinking of the worst-case scenario and making sure it doesn't happen while also preparing in case it does --that's our jam. The public can handle and has a right to information that concerns them.

Extremist researchers, law enforcement, community leaders, legal experts, and media, please prepare a worst-case scenario with QAnon being re-platformed. Do not underestimate the potential threat. Some groups consume content straight from foreign states and conspiracy theorists.

The US should amplify the voices being suppressed and invest more in new methods for circumventing state censorship. Do this for Russia and China. What? We have Sputnik radio in the midwest, while Russia, China ban US journalists, and we're supposed to act like we are helpless?

Russian authorities have developed a sophisticated system to suppress any reporting of protests by journalists and independent monitors, according to a new report released by Amnesty International. abcnews.go.com/International/

There are so many consequences of conspiracy beliefs that go uncounted and so are not considered. An example that should outline the damage a conspiracy theory can do involves the US. No one counted the cost of the lives lost in the attached example.

Across the board, conspiracy theories hold the potential for harm. There seems to be a significant negative relationship between anti-vaccine conspiracy beliefs and vaccination intentions.

We are not prepared to deal with this threat. Traditional counterterrorism strategies do not and cannot address this. So we will see a problem that we are ill-equipped to face, grow.

QAnon is a threat on its own, but the risk of outside manipulation may be greater than before. QAnon appears to radicalize people faster than other ideologies, and it also appears to increase the likelihood of violence more than other conspiracy theories.

Defending free speech, which requires responsibility and temperance, isn't the same as whining you can't say ugly things without consequence. Defending free speech means ensuring everyone can use their voice. The other seeks to monopolize convos and intimidate other perspectives.
