how would've these 2 heroes interact if they met? by XDrDeadeye in StrangerThings

[–]chrispymarshmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty sure they went to high school together. Bob went to Joyce and Hopper’s high school and Hopper said he’s known Benny for a long time. IIRC, Hopper left Hawkins early on to fight in the Vietnam War then moved to some big city with his wife so he would have to have known Benny in high school. I think it’s safe to assume that Benny came across paths with Bob at some point then. probably made fun of him though for being a nerd.

Gentrification of trends | Opinions on Brownie glazed lips by koko_ros6309 in BeautyGuruChatter

Hailey Bieber’s mom is Brazilian and there are pictures of Kennya Baldwin wearing brown lipliner from as early as the 90s. she has said many times that she takes inspiration from her mom. she didn’t specifically say she took the lip combo from her mom but it’s entirely possible she did and doesn’t actually know the original name and origin and just saw it as something her mom used to do. also, just curious, what is the original name?

the way he tried to talk sense into and save Cersei was the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen. Cersei tried to kill him so many times in the books and tv series, there’s no way he thought for a second he could talk some sense into Cersei.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and I’m not going to judge her because she didn’t do something but I’m not going to praise her or support her for doing the bare minimum.

[–]chrispymarshmallow 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate Emrata but I do side eye those who put her on a pedestal for being some “feminist” icon cause it’s sooo obvious she’s only a feminist when it comes to other young, hot, white women like her. I really dislike seeing posts about her on this sub cause they’re usually about what an amazing feminist she is but all she does is defend a few white women in some comments/stories and she’s never spoken up for women of colour. that being said, she doesn’t have to stand up for women of colour and again I’m not hating on her but I do get annoyed people treat her like some “feminist” icon cause she really does the bare minimum and gets hella praise for it.

I find it so ironic he’s selling organic, “detox” and other greenwashed products when he has tattoos…

I have tattoos myself but I’m not the one worrying about “toxic chemicals” in my skincare and doing this “detox” bs.

Celebrities who are wildly unlucky with their projects by breakfastbenedict in Deuxmoi

Miranda Cosgrove. She was the highest paid child actress at one time and her name was once on par with Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Zendaya and Ariana Grande. she had the potential to be much bigger but for some reason, she isn’t. possibly cause she took a break and went to college and her career just never bounced back?

Let’s deep dive: Why does Kim Kardashian want to be taken so seriously beyond her celebrity? by hokagesarada in popculturechat

[–]chrispymarshmallow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my sister is also a practicing lawyer and that’s why she’s qualified to audit lawyers. she’s met more lawyers than you and her job is quite literally to review their practice including their credentials and those who work on their cases LOL

you said the baby bar helps people who can’t afford law school but if it really was that good, more people would opt to do the baby bar option than to slave away doing LSATs whilst acquiring hundreds of thousands dollars of debt just to write the bar. this path is even more inaccessible to the average Joe. there are very few lawyers out there who are willing to hire someone with no legal background and no experience. and yeah, you said there are shitty lawyers who can’t afford to hire qualified individuals and would opt to hire a baby bar writer in exchange for hours. again, you are missing a huge point that underprivileged/normal middle class people cannot take this route cause they cannot afford to work and study full time for 3-5 years. going to law school at least allows people to take out debt or find other part time jobs to support themselves. the baby bar is not a “cheaper” option and for the average person is actually more expensive unless they can find a job at a law firm that is willing to provide them with flexibility, liveable wage AND adequate support which is pretty much only accessible to those with strong connections to lawyers that no longer is a normal employer/employee relationship.

Edit: yeah you’re right it’s a viable option for paralegals/people already working in law without law degrees. but that doesn’t exactly make it an affordable option for those who want to be a lawyer. only those already in the right circumstance.

what does setting up a practice at your home have to do with anything? you have to be a qualified lawyer to set up your own practice. a baby bar writer can’t just set up their own practice and take clients and write them off as “hours worked at a law firm”. and my sister does compliance audits for lawyers and said most lawyers will not hire someone to work for them without experience/proper credentials, even if they’re a one man firm. if the baby bar was that good at removing educational barriers preventing lower income people from becoming a lawyer, there wouldn’t be less than 300 people writing the baby bar compared to over 3000 writing the actual bar.

[–]chrispymarshmallow 64 points65 points  (0 children)

no it isn’t. people who can’t afford law school likely do not have any connections to lawyers and this path requires STRONG connections to lawyers. no lawyer is going to hire someone not in law school as a legal intern and this path requires people to simultaneously work at a law firm as a legal intern directly supervised by a lawyer. unless it’s their kid/very close friend’s kid/family member/someone who will benefit them a lot, it’s too much time and commitment for a random lawyer who is basically getting nothing. this path is designed for nepo babies who have the money and connections to practice law but not the capabilities to get into law school.

the joke came before his breakup with Camilla. if he really wanted to seem like he doesn’t only date younget than 25, he would’ve stayed with her after her birthday. instead, he timed it perfectly right to make it seem like he dumped her cause she turned 25.

I don’t think this is a PR relationship in that way cause he’s been getting dragged for only dating under 25 for years… seems weird he’d suddenly care about it now.

[–]chrispymarshmallow 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Britney was always rude. I remember when she was a judge on on X Factor she would make grossed out faces and be like “I’m disgusted just by looking at you” to people who’s performance sucked. also Alexa Nikolas previously said that a grown ass Britney screamed at her when she was like 12 on Zoey 101 so badly she threw up. I supported Britney’s freedom from her conservatorship and I love her music but she’s a problematic person.
