Hey everyone!"I'm starting my first Valheim playthrough and I'm super excited!I've loved watching this game on twitch for the longest time and decided, it's about time I started my own playthrough, I love games like the Forest and Conan, etc. Games I see as sorta similar to Valhiem, so I think I will really enjoy it!

This game looks amazing and is so cool in terms of its mechanics and attention to detail! I'm really excited to start playing it.

Does anyone have any advice for a first-time player? I'm not looking for any spoilers or anything, just maybe some general tips the community has for me about the game and some things you learned.

How about this, tell me one thing you wish you knew when you started playing Valheim!

Thanks, everyone in advance

**EDIT**

Hey Everyone, I just want to take the time to thank all of you for the amazing advice and kind words! This is an amazing community and a truly amazing game, I'm excited to keep playing it and learn everything about it! You've all helped me a ton with the advice you've given, and some of your comments saved my life!

**An Update on the game**

So far I'm about 8 hours into the game, I almost died a few times, once to a tree, another to almost drowning, and the last to a bunch of skeletons in a crypt! I've been just taking the game slow and enjoying the learning experience it has to offer! At the moment I'm trying to kill deer and Boars to get a tanning rack and upgrade to leather armor, after that I think ill give it a go for the first boss! I haven't mastered parrying, and I'm using basic equipment, but I'm probably going to use a bow more than any weapon in the game, and its fun to run around shooting things in the face as they try to eat you!

**The Black Forest**

I ended up traveling into the black forest by mistake and decided what the heck ill give it a go. I ran into a nest of some the Tree people, fierce enemies popping out right and left, was quite scary, I ended up running back and forth to the nest hitting it each time with a horde of trees on my tail! After escaping with my life, I stumbled upon a skeleton crypt and instantly met with spooky sounds and creaking doors I progressed with caution. I heard something behind a door and decided to open it. 3-4 Skeletons stood on the other side of the door, all huddled up against it. Each skeleton clanked as soon as the door was ajar, chunking my health as it swung at me. I panicked and managed to shut the door back in their faces. I decided that was enough adventuring and went back home to warm myself by the hearth. Tomorrow is a new day, I will begin gathering materials to conquer this crypt soon...

**The Next Day**

Today I finally died... A cave troll of all things, I took my time, going in and out of the cave hitting it each time and running after it hit me once. Finally, when its health at below 10% I got reckless and went all in! Big mistake, he tanked more hits than I thought he would and hit me hard, I tried to run but being too gassed after using all my stamina to hit him I walked slowly away and got crushed :( I returned with a vengeance killed him, then wen ton the hunt in the Black forest for another Troll. Found one, and cleared all the crypts! This is my Forest now! I'm now sitting pretty with a level 3 workbench and almost full troll armor, one more troll and I should get it. I also have made a smelter and coal Kiln! Now I just need to figure out how to mine the raw materials with no metal pick!

I'm going to be updating this post every now and then with my adventure :)

Thanks again everyone!
