^ sketch to show you the situation.


Basically we bought a home that is a real fixer-upper, and a lot of the floors are slanted. It was built in 1915 and I know a lot of the settling is natural. It's just that in the bathroom, the floor is such a downward slope towards the toilet/sink that you almost fall forward. I wanted to know if there was any type of solution for this, or way to make it more tolerable. Thank you!

Hello! Previous home owner used overlay hinges to attach cabinet doors to the face frames. See the photo for an example. All my cabinets are like this:

My issue is this: the screws attaching one hinge to the face frame face frame of a frequently used cabinet have given up and torn out.

My question is: what options do I have to fix this? Should I fill the hole with wood putty and try to re-mount the hinge hardware?

In looking at hinges for cabinets, the ones I have look like they are too big for the size face frame. It doesn’t look right to me. I might replace them, but that’s a bigger task than I have time for right now.

Thanks for any advice!
