Like, what if one species' delicacy smells like farts to another species (never mind that our own species has delicacies which share aromatic compounds with feces and vomit)? Or what if one being is far more sensitive than another to a popular intoxicant?

Do servers and serving droids need to be trained/programmed with such compatibilities and incompatibilities in mind? ("Pardon me, ma'am, but you'd best not help yourself to that—it's meant for Ithorians, who favor beverages that are far more caustic than the human palate can tolerate. May I recommend something with a higher pH level instead?")

I suppose if menus were designed to be broadly inoffensive to a wide variety of beings, the fare might end up being universally bland, though the risk of poisoning would be substantially lower. What are your thoughts?
