You can have very small device inside your body or clothes that will vibrate when opponent make a high percentage mistake (or something like that, depends on your algorithm). This is huge adventage in Chess that can push your ELO up significantly

I don't know if he cheated in open live event or not. But i know that such a frequent cheater would have strong incentive to cheat there.

This definitely damaged his reputation a lot either way.
