A Reddit for Machinists of all varieties. From Old School conventional guys, to CNC Programmers, to the up and coming next generation.
I work mostly with aluminum and was thinking of an easy way to get machine grease or old polish off a number of parts efficiently. Instead of spending money on a specialized cleaner, I was thinking about just picking up an old dishwasher. Tell me why running a cycle on high (~130 F) with ajax wouldn’t work
Welcome to r/AskConservatives! A sub to ask conservatives questions with the intent of better understanding Conservatism and conservative perspectives. The sub tends to have a focus on US politics, but we welcome all Canadian, UK, Aus, and European topics and users, as well as world politics in general. Open discussions and honest debates are strongly encouraged. Please remember to keep things civil and respect others even when you disagree.
Welcome to r/askaconservative! (sister sub of r/AskConservatives) Please note: This sub is a work in progress and the format will likely change over time. For now this is a place for an individual to ask and discuss with a range of Conservatives about Conservatism, Conservative policy, the conservative opinions they hold, and why. Proper decorum is required. Read the RULES before attempting to participate. If you prefer a more open format, please visit our sister sub at r/AskConservatives.

I know Rush Limbaugh isn’t somebody who speaks for the community as a whole and has been known to be relatively radical but what’s the general opinion of them among conservatives? Is there any defense or truth that the community believes they have or has Rush and his comments been largely dispelled as not representative of the community in general?

NFL player, Desean Jackson, posted on Instagram. Since then, many current and former players came out in support of Jackson, with little opposition.
This is currently a big topic in the sports community and there are 0 threads discussing it on .
One example of thread I caught before deletion:
And to show it’s not just a general removal of politics, a different political post on the front page that’s 5 hours old:
More:
and were doing them same before the mods started getting called out for censorship.
. Note that the megathread was only created the day after in what’s likely an attempt to reduce the amount of attention the incident was getting on the sub.
The threads during the recieved no noticeable censorship on these subs a month ago.
edit: I was given a 28 day ban (lmao) for post not having a descriptive enough title and then was perma banned when they saw this thread

Recently when I click “Post” on my comment, it brings me back to the thread as usual but the comment does not post and simply disappears with no clear way to recover it. There is no “Comment Posted” notification nor any error notification. I’m just brought back to the thread as if I never even replied.
This is a bit annoying to say the least, is anybody having similar issues?

This suggestion is a little out there and may be unreasonable but it would be an amazing feature to be able to open Reddit post/comment links directly into a site that archives deleted Reddit comments. This option can be listed in the same hyperlink menu that allows you to copy, message, email, etc. them and they can just be opened through Apollo into whatever browser you use.
To my knowledge, no other Reddit app offers this. More of a pipe dream idea than anything else but it would be incredibly cool to have this feature.

A community for discussing the online dating app Tinder. Sharing conversations, reviewing profiles and more.
I know this isn’t a new idea but I still can’t understand why Tinder hasn’t implemented the ability to order your matches by distance from you. I move around a lot and when I’m trying to find somebody in the area, it seems completely archaic to have to click through tens of profiles just to find somebody close. I can’t imagine it would be a difficult feature to add and we’ve been asking for this for years.

I don’t mean for this to get political but why do liberal people/groups insist on using the term indigenous people in lieu of native americans? I really don’t see how native americans is an offensive term in any capacity or how indigenous people better describes people native to America before the Europeans came over.
I really don’t mean for this to be a jab, genuinely curious.

A subreddit for discussing credit cards. Be sure to read sub rules before posting, use the resources linked in the sidebar / about section of the sub, and use search to see if your question has already been answered.
-
Current cards: Amex Blue Cash Everyday ($5000), Chase Freedom ($3000); have had both for 4+ years, light spending
-
FICO Score: 744 but should be increasing soon, I purchased/financed a car 5 months ago
-
Oldest account age: e.g. 5 years 8 months
-
Chase 5/24 status: 0/24
-
Income: $67,000 I spend $2-4k per month. Biggest expenses are gas, bars, and general shopping but generally don't have any consistent spending habits with any expenditure type. The biggest expenditure type would likely be general shopping at ~$300/mo but that will slow down a lot soon. No other types dominate enough to be worth a special selective spending card.
-
Open to Business Cards: Yes
-
What's the purpose of your next card? Rewards that can be put towards travel, maximizing my benefits
-
Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Wells Fargo Propel American Express and Chase Sapphire (Preferred and Reserved)
-
Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? Definitely prefer general spending
I've read the wiki and would prefer to do something less intensive but if you feel it may be worth it for me to put the time in, I'd be open to suggestions of where to start there.
