Why is Kiriko’s Athleisure skin considered legendary? The only real difference is her jacket for $19USD... by Junochu in Overwatch

[–]Junochu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about the fact that the skin is basically her default skin with minor changes made to it. No changes were made to her weapons, they're literally identical to her default skin. It's the fact that a skin like this is being labeled and sold as a legendary, despite the very obvious lack of effort put into it.

I've pretty much accepted the fact that legendary skins are going to be overpriced. But I at least expected the legendary skins to maintain the same level of quality they had in OW1.

I'm not sure what you mean? Sigma Maestro has been changed in almost every way from his default skin, even his weapon is different.

Yeah, i'll be getting the free twitch drop skin. But what about people who miss the event? Their only option will be to pay for this lazy skin.

Yeah that's what I'll be doing for sure. But I imagine they'll sell the twitch one for the same price later on. People who don't get the skin during the event will have no other option but to pay up though, which sucks 😔

Yeah, that one is actually pretty cool, and they actually updated the weapons for that one too!

Doesn't change the fact that they're charging almost $20 for this version of it though 😂
Once the twitch event is over they're probably going to sell that version for the same price too.

I agree, but at least for JQ and Sojurn they changed the weapon skin a little. Kiriko's weapons are literally identical to her default skin. They didn't even bother to recolor it or anything.

Yup starting today at 2:00pm PDT. Still crazy that they're advertising it as a legendary skin drop, when they barely changed anything from her default skin.

Right? That was the biggest surprise to me. I thought they'd at least change the weapon skins...

Yeah, her epic skin is actually really nice. I'm actually kind of glad it's the cheaper option lol!

220929 BLACKPINK - ‘Shut Down’ 4th Win @ MNET M Countdown! by elevendigits in BlackPink

[–]Junochu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are they promoting? I thought they were going to do US promo, but all they did was Jimmy Kimmel and a SiriusXM interview as far as we know. I'm kinda disappointed because I was excited to see them do more Pink Venom and Shut Down performances 😔

IVE should not be eligible for rookie of the year by t1me4m3 in unpopularkpopopinions

So I guess with this logic, Kep1er shouldn't be eligible because Yujin was a member of CLC? lol. Or does it not count because CLC wasn't popular enough? 🙄

220922 Jisoo, Rosé, & Lisa @ Incheon International Airport (Arrival from Los Angeles) by elevendigits in BlackPink

[–]Junochu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They're back already? I feel like they keep flying the girls back and forth from from Korea to the US, and they only do like one promotional event. They did this for the VMAs, which I guess made sense. But why fly out again just to do 1 performance on Jimmy Kimmel? I thought they were going to be doing more promo while in the US. Maybe they did some pre-recorded stuff that hasn't been aired yet. It just doesn't make sense to me, especially with how long these flights are.

I'm low-key kinda disappointed with how little promo they did for Pink Venom, and I'd be a little sad if it was a repeat for Shut Down.

I can't download / fix The Sims 3 no matter what I try, please help by finuqxqu in Sims3

[–]Junochu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are not alone with this problem. I am also having this issue, I recently redeemed a code for a pack, and I cannot download the pack because of this issue. The workaround currently is to download the EA App, and use that instead. From what I've heard though, the EA App will uninstall Origin from your computer. I've also personally experienced issues in the past with The Sims 3 launcher when I've went from Origin to the EA App.

There is an EA Answers topic about this here if you are interested.

i hate when someone charges for their cc and it looks like this smh by aspensky5 in Sims4

[–]Junochu 1222 points1223 points  (0 children)

It honestly doesn't even look like this person created this hairbase by hand. It looks like they took an image of a real person's hair, and just erased around the hair line, keeping some of the original skin texture and called it a day. It's super lazy and nobody should ever pay for something like this. This honestly shouldn't even be released for free.

I agree, also her lip color is way too nude here. In her RE2 Remake version she was clearly wearing a darker lipstick color. Example

This is how they are handling it? Isn’t this the same? by Fairymask in Sims4

[–]Junochu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok, and I was clarifying to anybody reading your comment, that it doesn't matter whether EA owns the .package file extension or not. There's more that goes into making the mod function than just the file extension.

Your comment doesn't exist in a vacuum, you were replying to somebody, and in that context what I said in my response to your comment was relevant.

[–]Junochu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. You don't just make a mod for The Sims by mistake. Is it just coincidence that your .package file works perfectly in the game, items have descriptions, prices, etc. in-game?

Once you do that you've made a mod for the game, and that mod then falls under EA's terms, which requires the .package file to be distributed for free.

They can paywall their 3D models if they want, but they can't paywall the mod files.

EA released statement about the PayWalls for Mods and CCs...again by Shanice712 in Sims4

[–]Junochu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's called a donation.

Donations are fine, mod creators are still going to continue to make money from their Patreons or whatever. They just can't require a donation in order to gain access to the mod. At that point it's not really considered a donation anyone, you're literally selling your mod.

All-Japanese Girl Group XG Faces Backlash After The Group's CEO Makes Anti-Korean Remarks by simplyMi in kpop

[–]Junochu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He isn't the current CEO, the article is using outdated information. Even the his Instagram, which they cited as one of their sources states he is only a chairman on the board of directors now.

They kinda have connections to YG, though very very loosely. They're under Avex, which is a very big entertainment company in Japan. YG has their own label under Avex, called YGEX, exclusively for the Japanese releases of their artists (aside from BlackPink, they moved to Universal in 2019 due to signing a deal with Interscope for their International promos.). So that's where the connection probably comes from. And I wouldn't be surprised if YG was giving them some sort of connections due to the two companies being in business with each other for the past 11 years. But yeah, it's clear YG didn't have any direct involvement in the group creatively.

All-Japanese Girl Group XG Faces Backlash After The Group's CEO Makes Anti-Korean Remarks by simplyMi in kpop

[–]Junochu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I just want to point out that he's the founder and former CEO of the company, he stepped down back in 2020. He is still a chairman of the board though.

Just thought it was important to clarify this, because this article keeps stating he's the company's CEO and this is out of date information.

I feel like this changes things quite a bit, since XG only debuted this year, two years after he had already stepped down.
