Based on reviews I’ve watched seems like it needs a rear sway bar to help turn in and reduce understeer but that’s not uncommon for this class.

That sounds like an allergic reaction. Have you changed your product recently?

This is certainly not my car nor is it my image but this is literally my dream car. Yes, the 2003 BMW M5. by Shrek_The_Funny in BMW

[–]daver456 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know this goes against the core beliefs of this sub but I had one of these (a 2000) and honestly I didn’t love it.

I came from an e46 M3 and an FRS and I guess I was hoping for it to be more of a sports car than it was. Well it wasn’t. It’s much bigger, softer, laid back and heavier than what I really wanted in a car. Sure it’s a great sports sedan but it’s not a sports car. Yes I acknowledge that’s my fault for buying the “wrong car” but I also lusted over this thing.

Great car if you spend a lot of time on the highway (although MPGs weren’t great) or if you need to ferry your kids around and you want a manual and a V8 to do it. I did enjoy road trips with it but living in the city made it hard to enjoy the power often enough and the clutch was quite heavy so traffic was a real workout. I would get into other people’s cars and basically kick my foot through the firewall.

If I could go back in time I would have been much happier with an e90/e92 M3.

Have you tried to leave the bathroom fan on constantly? Sounds like maybe the ventilation is connected.

Tape decks have rubber belts that have probably crumbled to dust in the last 20 years, of all the thing the cassette deck is the least likely to be fully operational.

This is good quality stuff, especially for free. At some point someone knew what they were doing when they bought this.

Hook it up and see if it works. Don’t crank it too loud in case something isn’t right. Good chance they don’t need a service but that makes me wonder why they were stashed away in the first place.

The aesthetic is on point, especially with the flat file. For looks and sound I would love to space these out a bit, but they’re huge so I get it if you can’t.

Usually have 2 TVs going for the 1pm and 430pm games and then always watch TNF, SNF and MNF…so ~7 games a week?

Also childless and keeping it that way.

That’s a very good point, at the end of the day much of this is a compromise based what we need and what we can afford and how it works within our spaces.

Glaring design defects aside the problem is that whatever measurement you’re looking at will mean very little once you have the speaker in your room.

A sealed speaker and a ported speaker that both measure similarly in a lab test will not measure similarly in your room.

Then if you care enough about measurements to make it the main criteria for your purchase you flatten the whole thing out with DIRAC anyway.

Not saying measurements not useful, just not convinced you can draw meaningful real world conclusions from them.

Because it’s all subjective and the other salesman probably likes the speakers he suggested better.
