Is Akers droppable?

At this point it doesn't seem to me like Akers has much upside given the current state of the Rams running/offense in general unless Henderson gets hurt, and he's not really startable right now anyway. If he remains like this for the rest of the season then he'll never be good enough to be in a starting lineup. So my question is, would it make sense to drop Akers for someone with more upside (e.g. Michael Gallup or a handcuff like Rachaad White), or is there something I'm missing about why one might choose to keep him?

I'm in a league where both Henderson and Akers got dropped this week, by different managers. Not sure I even want the headache of claiming and following either one, honestly.

Really considering dropping Henderson

This seems short sighted. RBs are always in short supply in fantasy. Hendo is getting steady ground and passing work, and I would have to think McVay will make adjustments to open up this offense more. Unless you already have a bench full of good players, these are RBs worth picking up.

Seeing all these peeps that dropped Henderson makes me feel better about having done it last week.

The rams O-line is ass and it’s effecting their entire offense. They can’t establish the run, so that means safeties can provide tighter coverage which means Stafford needs more time to throw the ball, time he doesn’t get…because the O-line is trash.

Honestly ditch those guys and pick up Kyren Williams. I think he will be the true RB1 on that team when he gets back from injury which should be soon. He is their best pass blocking back and I think he fits better with the way they run their offense. Adam Schefter was on to something when he said he was his sleeper pick. Seeing that the Rams Offense has been not so good to start the season I believe Kyren was a big part of the plan heading in.

This literally happened in my league and I had Akers.

I dropped Henderson this week for this reason. I don’t see myself ever feeling good about starting him. I’ve heard speculation that they’re saving him and trying to keep him healthy for later in the season, but I’m not buying it.

same thing in our league (i'm the one who dropped Akers)

The rams O-Line is certifiably not good, but they have played the two best rushing defenses in the league so far this year. I think Akers has more upside, and I don't think that he's going to be an RB1, but unless you have a stacked team he deserves a roster spot in most leagues.

I dropped Akers after week 1 when it was clear the Rams intended to play games with RB usage. I don’t need the headache. Ended up getting CEH, Mostert, and Jeff Wilson from trade and waivers. I’m happy with my decisions.

I drafted both and am waiting on a injury. I don’t need the depth otherwise they would’ve headed to dumpsville.
