Dynasty Fantasy Football: Fantasy Football 365 Days a Year

A few weeks ago, I posted a searchable trade database with trades from Sleeper and MyFantasyLeague. My brother and I wrote an algorithm to convert these trades into trade values and rankings. It follows this general approach:

1. Calculate every player’s initial value using a convex optimization algorithm.

2. Find trade values over time by giving a higher weight to more recent trades.

3. Remove the least fair 1% of trades.

4. Adjust trades to a 12 team PPR league. For example, QBs were about 5% more valuable in 12 team leagues than in 8 team leagues. So if a QB was traded in an 8 team league, we give them a 5% value boost for that trade to adjust it to a 12 team league.

With this process, we can see how players were valued in each individual trade. For example, here are what the trades look like for Amon-Ra St. Brown. Each point on the graph represents an individual trade whose details can be seen by hovering over the point on the full site.

This was an idea I originally posted to /r/dynastyff 5 years ago, and I'm finally excited to share that it's now a fully supported and automated tool.
