Soulside’s new record “A Brief Moment in the Sun” will be released on Nov 18th.  The record was written from four different locations during the heart of the coronavirus pandemic and then recorded in person by J. Robbins in November 2021 at Magpie Cage Studio in Baltimore.  Soulside is Alexis Fleisig (drums), Scott McCloud (guitar and vocals), Bobby Sullivan (vocals), and Johnny Temple (bass).

The band will play 5 East Coast shows with Verbal Assault starting this week and are planning tours in the US and Europe in 2023 to support the new album.

Hammered Hulls’ debut LP Careening will be released on Oct 28th. A new band of long-time players, Hammered Hulls’ music hews close to some of their early influences. Alec MacKaye is the voice, Mark Cisneros is the guitarist, Mary Timony is the bassist, and Chris Wilson plays drums. Careening includes 12 songs records at Inner Ear Studios by Don Zientara and Ian MacKaye. The record is up for pre-order via our website and also through our Bandcamp page. The band will be performing shows throughout the fall and winter. 

We’re happy to announce that the pre-ordered Dischord 200 boxsets have now all left the pressing plant and are in the mail.

The packages were shipped chronologically according to the order dates and it took approximately two weeks to get everything sent off.

If you have not already received yours, please allow a week or two for the packages to be delivered.

This has been an extremely complicated project made infinitely more complicated by the pandemic, supply-chain issues, and shipping delays, so your patience with us and this project is very much appreciated!

We are pleased to announce that after being held up at the port for nearly six weeks, the vinyl has finally been delivered to the plant where the boxsets will be assembled. The project is now in line to be completed and the company doing the work is estimating that we’ll have the finished pieces ready to ship in late January/early February.

Please be aware that shortages and delays are still holding things up and it’s possible that the release will be pushed back even further, but we’re hoping that this schedule will hold and we’ll finally be able to deliver #200.

When we created the pre-order site for the Dischord #200 Boxset we knew that the enormity of the project combined with the already-overloaded pressing plants meant that the production would take months and months to finish. With that in mind, we made it clear on the site that we had hoped to be able to deliver the boxsets by late 2021, thinking that we would likely be able to ship them out in late October or early November.

Covid outbreaks, machinery breakdowns, supply chain issues, and shipping delays have now added at least couple more months to the delays, so now it’s looking like late December is the earliest that the finished pieces will go into the mail.

The situation is truly out of Dischord’s control and all we can really do is keep the lines of communication open with the manufacturers to encourage them to keep pushing to get this thing made. At this point all of the vinyl has been pressed, but the records have gotten stuck in the shipping/cargo crisis and we don’t know when they’ll arrive at the assembly plant.

We very much appreciate all of the patience and trust that our pre-order customers have given us and we’ll send out another update when we have a clearer idea of actual schedule for the release.

Though we suspect that most everyone who wanted to place a pre-order for the Dischord 200 Boxset was able to, it has come to our attention that some people may have had problems accessing the site owing to heavy traffic.  Just to make sure that everyone gets a crack at it, we’ve decided to leave the order site operational through Sunday (6/13) evening for any stragglers or people who were unable to get through.

We’ll be placing the pressing order on Monday and looking forward to getting the records made.

Tomorrow (Friday, June 11th) is the last day to place a pre-order for the First Six Records Boxset.

The pressing quantity will be based on the number of pre-orders we receive and, considering how complicated this project has been, there are no plans to ever repress the boxset.

Dischord 200 is not being sold wholesale to stores or distributors.

It's only available through Dischord mailorder through tomorrow (Friday, June 11th).

We've done our best to get the word out and hope that people who wanted it have placed an order.

If you happen to know someone who was thinking about it, please let them know that the thinking comes to an end tomorrow at midnight.

Remember, each boxset comes in its own mailer, so only one boxset per order. However, you can order as many times as you want (one person ordered 13 times!).

We've been pretty overwhelmed with the response we've gotten for this project and thank you all for your support.

Tomorrow, Friday, June 11th, is the last day to definitely secure a copy of the boxset. After we stop taking pre-orders and are able to put together a final tally is when the real work begins.

On March 26th, Dischord will reissue Lungfish's tenth full-length, Love Is Love, on color vinyl (red).  Originally released in 2003 the album was recorded and mixed at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia by Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara.
