Edit: This is been a blast, thanks to everyone for their awesome questions but I must be off. If you'd like to see more don't forget to check out the WKTL tiktok where I'll be live at 3pm eastern time today!

Hey there, I'm Evan Walters. As the title said, today is International Knife Throwing Day and I'm the Commissioner of the World Knife Throwing League! I figured I'd celebrate the day by answering any questions you have about knife throwing, the sport, ESPN, or anything else related!

A little backstory on me and throwing sports. I've spent the past few years growing our sister organization, the World Axe Throwing League, from about 10 affiliated axe-throwing venues in 2 countries to over hundreds of companies in 30 countries, as well as connecting our major tournaments with ESPN. We had excellent growth with WATL until COVID hit, we had to pretty much shut down operations like most sports, but we took that time to really focus on getting the WKTL started up. And since things have opened back up, it's almost as if things never shut down in the first place again! But as of this past year onward for the foreseeable future, I'm doing the same for knife throwing!

Hi! I’m Kathleen Unger, an attorney and the country’s foremost expert on the issue of voter ID. I’m the founder of VoteRiders, the country’s leading nonpartisan organization focused on voter ID.

Voter ID laws are on the rise across the country, potentially disenfranchising millions of voters. Fourteen states have passed new or harsher voter ID laws since 2020, and many more are considering enacting new measures in 2023 and beyond. An estimated 25 million Americans lack government-issued photo ID, and voter ID laws are likely to confuse millions more.

VoteRiders is in the solutions business. We help citizens cut through red-tape voter ID laws. We work with 1,000 partner organizations and 8,000 volunteers nationwide to help every eligible American cast a ballot that counts.

With just about two months before the November midterm elections, we’re getting voters ready to cast their ballots by ensuring they’ve got the ID they need to vote. For some people, getting an ID is easy, but for others there are time-consuming challenges. That’s why we’re here today answering questions, so citizens who need help have time to get the ID they need to vote in their state.

We’re also making sure voters who already have an ID understand these laws so they’re confident when they go to the polls on Election Day, knowing they cannot be turned away. I’m here with a team of VoteRiders staffers to answer your questions today!

Ask us anything about voter ID laws and what you need to do to make sure that nothing stops you from exercising your freedom to vote.

Mechanical engineer, robotics expert, and innovator Eduardo Alvarez, chief operating officer at Amyris, recently spearheaded production of the world’s most advanced fermentation plant in Brazil.

Alvarez studied at the University of Michigan and University of California, Berkeley, before earning his MBA at Harvard Business School. He built his career at GE, Booz Allen, and PwC, where he led the operations strategy business and worked with clients to reduce complexity, complete major M&A transactions, and drive sustained growth.

Alvarez came to Amyris in 2017 to drive Amyris production scale by harnessing the power of machine learning, robotics, precision fermentation, and lean operations. This is what Amyris calls the “lab-to-market” technology platform. With it, the company produces more ingredients at higher volumes and brings new innovations to consumers that also are good for the planet.

The new manufacturing plant in Barra Bonita is a modern wonder. Amyris formed a strategic partnership with Raizen, the largest sugar producer in the world, to build the plant on its property. The sugar cane syrup feeds the system to produce Amyris ingredients.

The company uses 1,500 pieces of equipment, 30 miles of pipes, and 4,000 tons of steel to form a tall, vertical structure that uses gravity to reduce energy requirements. The sugar cane gets sterilized, fermented, and automated with exact formulations to produce fourteen different products. It’s a zero-carbon process that Alvarez says is delivering “real products to consumers to help them live better lives without harming the planet.

The World Health Organization has declared monkeypox a global health emergency, its highest-level warning, and the Biden administration labelled the outbreak a public health emergency Thursday, as experts worry that the virus may gain a permanent foothold in the United States and other countries where it is not traditionally found.   What to know about monkeypox symptoms, treatments and protection: https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2022/07/27/monkeypox-symptoms

Unlike the early days of the novel coronavirus, the United States has a vaccine available to protect people against monkeypox — both before and after exposure to the virus. But supplies are limited, and public health authorities are prioritizing high-risk groups while awaiting additional shipments.   What you need to know about the monkeypox vaccine: https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2022/08/11/monkeypox-vaccine-question-answer   Early mistakes by the Biden administration left hundreds of thousands of gay men facing the threat of an agonizing illness and the potential for broader circulation of monkeypox.   Ask us anything!

My name’s Alex and I’m a consumer champion taking legal action against Sony UK.

Sony has been charging their customers too much for PlayStation digital games and in-game content and has unfairly made billions of pounds ripping off loyal gamers.

By charging a 30% commission on every digital game and in-game purchase, we say PlayStation has breached competition law. This means Sony UK could owe up to £5 billion to 8.9 million people, and anyone from the UK could receive £100’s in compensation if they owned a PlayStation console and bought digital games or add-on content via the PlayStation Store from 19 August 2016 to date.

I’m the proposed class representative for this lawsuit because I believe that massive businesses should not abuse their dominance, and Sony is costing millions of people who can't afford it, particularly when we're in the midst of a cost-of- living crisis and the consumer purse is being squeezed like never before.

Ask me anything about the case, and how it could impact UK gamers.
