Why Are There So Many Iranians In Los Angeles? [Becoming Iranian-American, Pt. 1] | AJ+
Los Angeles is home to the largest community of Iranians outside of Iran. But what are the origins of this slice of Iran in America, aka “Tehrangeles”?

When the 1979 Iran Hostage Crisis happened, Iranians in the United States endured a period of immense anti-Iranian sentiment. They were protested, beaten – even their immigration status was threatened.

Iranians React to the US-Iran Conflict | ASIAN BOSS
By now, most of you are probably aware of the growing tensions between Iran and the United States that followed the assassination of the Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani, by the Trump administration. In response, our Asian Boss team tried to conduct a street interview in Iran to get ordinary Iranian citizens’ perspective on the situation. But we were stopped at every corner by Iranian police and pretty much no one wanted to talk to us on camera. So instead, we tried to gather as many Iranians as possible here in Seoul, South Korea to get their perspectives. This is what they had to say.

Iran, two worlds apart: Exploring an Iranian society more divided than ever
Every day in the Iranian capital Tehran, thousands of supporters of the most conservative branch of the Iranian regime visit mausoleums honouring Shiite martyrs or other places linked to the Islamic Revolution. But on the streets, a younger generation is scorning the country's strict rules. Young women and men alike are yearning for change and a better relationship with the West. Our reporters went to meet this optimistic Iranian youth, which is becoming emancipated and dreaming of a future of freedom, in radical contrast to the most conservative Iranians.
