I wish I could say this to my younger self.

When I was a kid, every single member of my family (except for few) looked down on me. I would go to school, come back and game all day. Every day. This hobby of mine never truly went away, and I am glad it stayed that way.

I turned 25 recently. I always thought I'll turn out to be a failure because my parents (especially dad) thought I would account to nothing. I have a job, I am doing my Master's and I've had couple of romantic relationships. In fact, I freelanced for a game studio for almost two years. There's so much more I wish to do, and gaming will still be a huge part of my life.

If you're reading this, and you're a kid in your teens or early 20s... please don't ever feel guilty about gaming. Don't let society, let alone Indian parents, tell you any different.

Feel free to DM me if you wish to talk to someone who can listen to your story and give you hope.

Edit: In my experience, gaming felt like a waste (or something that brought guilt) only when I wasn't working on the other aspects of my life. Career, education, family, etc. I believe we all are here to serve a purpose. Find that! And then, game all you want.
