Always wonder where people get their crime data on Chicago.City's crime in general compared to major cities puts us nearly in the safest category. We really need to address the fake press that we get or the constant political punchlines. Yes there is crime but it isn't MOST DANGEROUS CITY IN AMERICA bad and by a long shot.
1) Overall Rank is the overall ranking from safest (50) to most dangerous (1) metro. 2) Violent crime and property crime rates are the number of crimes per 100,000 residents in the metro area. 3) Natural disaster risk is the number of natural disasters that each metro has experienced since 1953. 4) Water violation risk is the number of drinking water violations in counties within the metro area per 100 residents. Note: New Orleans had zero violations, but did not have any recorded site visits; therefore the value is not reliable. 5) Transport fatality risk is the number of deaths that were the result of a transport (air, road, or water vehicle) accident per 100,000 residents in the metro.
