Controversial opinion but I do not believe that a premier League style of play translates necessarily all that well into Europe aside from Jürgen Klopp's very specific styles.

Since about 2010 onwards, people have been spouting how much better the PL is because of its fast pace and intensity. And sure it definitely has been more fast pace and intense.

But that really doesn't mean that PL has necessarily the best European performances. If the PL was miles ahead then English clubs would dominate the CL and EL completely.

I believe the PL likely has too much emphasis on "intensity" which leads to some compromises defensively - which is the main downfall of English sides in Europe.

Tldr: fast and intense doesn't actually mean that it's the "best" league. The title of best league is highly debatable from a skill point of view.

Not sure if there's many soccer fans in here but this Pies team just reminds me of Manchester United in the 20/21 EPL season where they just kept coming back and winning games on the back of positivity and belief.
