It allows them to know where their back feet are in relation to their body. It helps with agility and obedience turns. I work it using a bowl and have her front feet on it circling her back feet around it.

I joined the local dog training club. I have a background in behavior and training so I did all her basics during Covid on my own then started classes when they opened back up. She turns 3 in December! I have some of her agility videos up in my post history!

She’s at the perfect weight. She’s an active sports dog so she needs to stay thin to keep her joints safe.

We have a ton of puzzle feeders and I scatter feed. I’ve found free shaping behaviors tires her out pretty fast since she has to figure out what I’m asking on her own. Working on focus and tightening up our heel work is something else we do on the regular. Also if you haven’t done any hind end awareness work that is also very fun to do and makes them think!

She’s full grown and since she’s a sports dog I keep her at a consistent weight so this will be a problem for the foreseeable future 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s never too late!! I recommend absolute dogs to get started with basic focus building then find a local club to train at! There are also a lot of good videos on YouTube about how akc trials work!
