This is a subreddit dedicated to satirically mocking those people who, blinded by their own nostalgia, believe certain things in the past to be unequivocally better than today. We place a special emphasis on music, because this subreddit was created after annoyance over "born in the wrong generation" attitude often expressed by fans of 60s/70s rock.

So we were thinking of not who are the most popular bands out there, but also what bands are made of all popular individuals as well.

You take a band like Foo Fighters or Pearl Jam and yeah maybe I can get 80% of them, but definitely don't know a few, and "most" music fans would probably be even lower. You want to say Led Zepplin, but could most music fans name John Paul Jones? Same with Rolling Stones. How many people can name Ronnie/Charlie? Maybe lots. We forgot. But again just spitballing here.

Nirvana could come close. U2? We just couldn't find many!!

The Beatles

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Pink Floyd

Rolling Stones

Fleetwood Mac

Led Zeppelin

Rush

Spice Girls

Wu-Tang Clan

Edit: I’m not Flea

I can only speak for myself, but this makes it really hard to keep track of the songs I like. I love listening to classical music but if you asked me my favorite artists I would have difficulty telling you specifics.
