I live in TX, and just got my Fallopian tubes removed for permanent sterilization a few days ago. I’m staying here in Texas until I vote in November, then I’m heading out. I’ve never been happier to get the hell out of anywhere else. by chloe1919 in TwoXChromosomes

Honestly I’ve yet to find a draw back other than the invasive nature of cutting you open (albeit laparoscopic). It cost me nothing out of pocket, never will get pregnant accidentally, and they actually send the tissue in for biopsies to ensure there is no cancer lurking!

I’ve considered sterilization since i had an ectopic pregnancy that nearly killed me 5 years ago. I have zero faith that my life would be saved if I didn’t get this procedure done. But appreciate your concern for my brain washing!

Yeah, general anesthesia—i was put under just about an hour. They started pre op at 7:30, i was awake by 9.

Bilateral salpingectomy, removal of Fallopian tubes is what’s i got. Super quick. Only thing bothering me is my period now. Had surgery on Friday.
