A day in the life of a Celtic Druid - Philip Freeman
Join the Celtic druid Camma in her village as she conducts religious rites, serves as a healer, and mediates conflict between tribes.
--
As the sun rises in 55 BCE, Camma lays two pigeons on the altar at the center of her village. She wrings the birds’ necks and cuts them open to examine their entrails for divine messages. Camma is a druid. She conducts religious rites, serves as a judge, healer, and scholar, teaches children and mediates conflict between Celtic tribes. Philip Freeman outlines a day in the life of a druid.

An introduction to Apache Druid
Cluster computing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop or Apache Spark are tremendously beneficial in processing and deriving insights from data. However, long query latencies make these frameworks sub-optimal choices to power interactive applications. Organizations frequently rely on dedicated query layers, such as relational databases and key/value stores, for faster query latencies, but these technologies suffer many drawbacks for analytic use cases. In this session, we discuss using Druid for analytics and why the architecture is well suited to power analytic applications.
User-facing applications are replacing traditional reporting interfaces as the preferred means for organizations to derive value from their datasets. In order to provide an interactive user experience, user interactions...

Bizarre Facts About The Druids
The Druids were either an intellectual class or priestly class of Celts living in Gaul (a region that encompassed the majority of Western Europe and the British isles) around 1200-600 BCE and beyond. While modern neo-Druids have a tree-hugging, pagan, hippie vibe, the reality is that the original, historical Druids are sort of a mystery. Scholarly research and historical accounts suggest, though, that the Druids were more intellectual than they were religious, and that they spent more time establishing a socially just society than they did worshipping at places like Stonehenge, which, spoiler, wasn't even theirs. But what little we do know about Druid history and Druid beliefs is pretty fascinating.

Druid - Druid (Full Album)
Druid - Druid (Full Album) Druid is a mind-expanding experiment involving the combination of stoned doom with raw rock and roll. Druid was founded by Kaleb Shaffner, Greg Ornella, Max Schmitz, and Louis Eyerman in 2014 in Athens, Ohio. This is Druid's debut album released in March of 2015. The album is incredibly catchy, mixing retro Psychedelic and Stoner sounds with Blues and Doom. The result is a perfect blend of great bands from the past (Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Pink Flyod) mixed with the modern Stoner sound.

In order to provide an interactive user experience, user interactions with analytic applications must complete in an order of milliseconds. To meet these needs, organizations often struggle with selecting a proper serving layer. Many serving layers are selected because of their general popularity without understanding the possible architecture limitations.
Apache Druid is an analytics data store designed for analytic (OLAP) queries on event data. It draws inspiration from Google’s Dremel, Google’s PowerDrill, and search infrastructure. Many enterprises are switching to Druid for analytics, and we will cover why the technology is a good fit for its intended use cases.
In this talk we are also discussing integration of Apache Druid and Apache Hive and the benefits of using them together

Data Con LA 2020
Description
Apache Druid is a cloud-native open-source database that enables developers to build highly-scalable, low-latency, real-time interactive dashboards and apps to explore huge quantities of data. This column-oriented database provides the microsecond query response times required for ad-hoc queries and programmatic analytics. Druid natively streams data from Apache Kafka (and more) and batch loads just about anything. At ingestion, Druid partitions data based on time so time-based queries run significantly faster than traditional databases, plus Druid offers SQL compatibility. Druid is used in production by AirBnB, Nielsen, Netflix and more for real-time and historical data analytics. This talk provides an introduction to Apache Druid including: Druid's core architecture and its advantages, Working with streaming and batch data in Druid, Querying data and building apps on Druid and Real-world examples of Apache Druid in action

1. Roots & Beings - 0:00
2. Mushroom Fields / Luke's Wall - 3:15

6. Rid This From My Eyes - 28:04
