We know the rising cost of living is hitting many people hard, including those who rent their homes.
That’s why the Scottish Budget for this year allocates £3 billion to help mitigate the effects of this crisis, including £83 million in housing support.
Measures in this Bill include:
✔ Public health protection powers
✔ Increased protection for private rented tenants facing evictions
✔ Allowing births, deaths and still-births to be registered remotely
✔ A temporary extension of some changes in the justice system
The Coronavirus Recovery and Reform Bill:
ℹ Ensures we are better prepared for future public health threats
ℹ Keeps reforms that have enabled more efficient or convenient public services
ℹ Mitigates the impact Covid has had on our justice system
Thread: MSPs have passed legislation to support Scotland's pandemic recovery.
ℹ️ The Coronavirus Recovery and Reform Bill proposes changes in 35 legislative areas, many of which originated in temporary Scottish and UK Covid legislation.

The First Minister also set out the actions the Scottish Government and the Lord Advocate will take in the absence of a section 30 order.
The Lord Advocate has agreed to make a reference of the provisions in the Scottish Independence Referendum Bill to the Supreme Court.
The First Minister has written to the Prime Minister to make clear that she is ready and willing to negotiate the terms of a section 30 order with him.
The referendum proposed in the Scottish Independence Referendum Bill will be consultative, not self-executing – exactly the same basis as in 2014.
ℹ For Scotland to become independent following a yes vote, legislation would have to be passed by the UK and Scottish Parliaments
The Scottish Independence Referendum Bill published today includes:
ℹ The proposed date of the referendum, 19 October 2023
ℹ The proposed question on the ballot paper, just as it was in 2014
