    About 12 million children in Pakistan are stunted; 2.5 million suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition. With funding from , has helped screen 35,000 under-five children for malnutrition in Balochistan, and treat 5,000 with RUTF -- like little Zarrine in the photo.

    Rabia has also diagnosed Zarrine's mother Lal Bibi with Iron-deficiency anemia. She gives her folic acid tablets, an Iron Supplement which will help solve the issue. More than half of adolescent girls and about 40 per cent of women of childbearing age in Pakistan are anemic.

    Beginning with ECW seed funding of just over 13 million US dollars, the aim is to raise a further nearly 50 million dollars for educating children. The grant has been awarded to UNICEF, the Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and the Rural Support Programmes Network (RSPN).
