This is the last book I read that had a legitimate lasting impression on me. The first time I read it I was working night shift and deployed to Iraq years ago. Something about this book made me feel as if I was literally going insane while reading it. The tension, the anxiety, the paranoia... wow. The unorthodox styles placed within the book felt as though they were meant to grab an ADHD mind for longer sittings than a traditional book.

What is your opinion on House of Leaves? Are there any other books that made you feel this way.

For the past year, I have had one consistent acquaintance on Goodreads. We read the same kinds of books, read and liked all of each other's reviews, and even chatted in review comments. Their name was anonymized or something, and I only knew them as "Reader."

They just privated their profile and stopped interacting with my reviews, and I am a little bit sad. My Goodreads ritual was to get on, write my review, and then read all of their reviews from the past couple weeks, and now half of my ritual is gone :(

Sorry if this isn't that relevant, but I wanted to get it off of my chest. Thank you
