I mean in my mind that's what courts are for. If I owe more, I owe more, I just want to have ended up paying a fair amount.

It's wood. What you're saying is basically exactly what the landlord told us. Handyman does not think he can get the floor to match if he spot repairs it so he's going to do the whole floor.

I guess now the question is whether I'm responsible for the full thousand. I think $500 seems more fair, mainly because the floor was not in great condition when we moved in. There was already very large grooves underneath the shiny coating.

Yes, we are moving out.
Deposit was $500, so I'll have to pay an additional $500
Landlord admitted the rest of the house is perfect. It's just this spot.

What I personally think would be fair would be to keep my deposit and not have me pay an additional $500, but I'm pretty ignorant about this stuff so I wanted to check with reddit first.

There is only one way to know for sure which fan you have and you know this. A million YouTube videos aren't going to help. The compression in videos makes everything sound the same volume, which is why the fan sound so loud in those videos.

Get the screwdrivers ready if you care that much.

I feel like if it spends three days out for delivery you shouldn't just continue to wait lol. Obviously something is going wrong right at the last step, maybe the driver can't find your place.

I know it's asking a lot, but can you take a picture of your steam deck next to a piece of paper with your username written on it.

I have a hunch that a lot of the people complaining about the whine don't even have steam decks.

I just got mine (512) and pretty sure it has the whiney fan, but people are blowing out of proportion (as people do). It's barely audible. In YouTube videos it sounds loud because of audio compression.

That being said, I would approach steam support again. Let the anger fade away and write a well though out message to them.

Don't say things like: "I do not accept your answer". That's the kind of thing a Karen says.

I think I got the loud whiney fan. It's absolutely being blown out of proportion imo. It obviously sounds way louder in YouTube videos because compression removes all the dynamic range.

Unless you have Tinnitus I wouldn't worry about it.
