Those three slots look like they may have tabs that needs to be pressed down all at the same time to release it. That is just a guess.

I think so too but it's very hard to press. If i force it, it maybe break. I tried cutting the slots to make it bigger thought it may just slide but nope. Its very rigid.

Is there a seam you could pry open? That could work but you would have to glue back in place. Of course a hammer will open it. But I normally only use that method when my patience has run out.

Hammer lol! I need to modify the lamp not break it.... I think i will have to make the cut from one slab to another. So i can easily open it. But putting it back would be hell of a task.

The question is, are you pushing the tabs in the right direction? The lamp may be made not to come apart, so those tabs could be designed to click in to place and it's not possible to get a tool in there that would push in the right direction to disengage. If so, there's no way to take it apart and put it back together like it was originally.

If I absolutely had to take this lamp apart without breaking it (at least, cosmetically) I would try to cut all three tabs so it comes apart. And then I'd deal with putting it back together after, when I can see the guts of it.

Edit: tab removal ideas: x-acto blade with a square tip; heat the plastic with a fine point soldering iron on low; heat a thin blade with a lighter or torch (just not so much you melt the plastic around it)

There are several quick and easy ways to open that lamp. The hard part is closing it back up again.

Could you share some of it? I don't want to break the lamp.

It is a smart-ass comment. A sledgehammer, band saw, dynamite, or flamethrower will all open it quickly but it will be difficult to close back up. I agree that opening it somehow involves those three slots.
