Hello, my name is Camila and now I will explain briefly how the moon influence the tides. The moon like the sun has gravity and it directly affects the tides. The difference between both is that the moon is closer than the sun of the Earth, this is why the moon has more influence. Gravity attracts the water of the oceans but also the whole Earth, and by inertia produces that on earth different levels of tides. The tides depend on the moon phases this makes them not be always the same. When the moon aligns with the sun, gravity multiplies and produces larger tides. When this happens, they are called live tides. When they are not aligned, they are called dead tides.

We welcomed Dr. Tylon Crook to the NAMI Virtual Forum for his presentation of "In pursuit of Justice, Equality, and Equity by Reducing the Impact of Implicit Bias" on Thursday, August 27th at 7:00 PM on Zoom.
The goal of this session is to equip individuals and professionals (mental health counselors, school counselors, educators, volunteers, etc.) with the knowledge and skills to address implicit bias in counseling, education, and various institutions within our society. Dr. Crook will focus on raising awareness about the concept of implicit bias and how it plays a role in facilitating racism and oppression within our society. The notion of implicit bias will be explored by deconstructing its components and through highlighting how it manifests within various institutions within our society. Ways in which it negatively impacts racial minorities and all Americans will be highlighted. Finally, strategies for reducing implicit bias at the individual level will be explored and put forward.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:
Dr. Tylon Crook, a national certified counselor, is currently a core faculty member within Walden University’s School of Counseling. He earned his master’s degree in mental health/school counseling from Mississippi State University and his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Auburn University. Dr. Crook’s research agenda includes topics such as spirituality and depression among African American men, social justice advocacy, implicit bias in counseling and education, and the school-to-prison pipeline and African American boys. In addition, Dr. Crook travels the country providing professional development in the areas of but not limited to school counseling program development, social justice, multiculturalism, and mental health issues within the African American community. He can also be found engaged in motivational speaking within schools and communities across the country. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Crook is also a member of numerous organizations, most notably Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) and the American School Counselor Association where he serves on sub-committees within the organization. As a life long learner and fierce proponent of education, equity, and justice, Dr. Crook lives by his fraternity’s motto of “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.”

Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy-drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Eric Roth. It is based on the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom and stars Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field. The story depicts several decades in the life of Forrest Gump (Hanks), a slow-witted but kind-hearted man from Alabama who witnesses and unwittingly influences several defining historical events in the 20th century United States. The film differs substantially from the novel.
Principal photography took place in late 1993, mainly in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Extensive visual effects were used to incorporate Hanks into archived footage and to develop other scenes. The soundtrack features songs reflecting the different periods seen in the film.
Forrest Gump was released in the United States on July 6, 1994 and received favorable reviews for Zemeckis' directing, Sinise and Hanks' performances, the visual effects, the music and the screenplay. The film was an enormous success at the box office; it became the top-grossing film in America released that year and earned over US$677 million worldwide during its theatrical run, making it the second highest-grossing film of 1994, behind The Lion King. The soundtrack sold over 12 million copies. Forrest Gump won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Hanks, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing. It received many award nominations, including Golden Globes, British Academy Film Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Varying interpretations have been made of the protagonist and the film's political symbolism. In 2011, the Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

Alabama people
The Alabama or Alibamu (Albaamaha in the Alabama language) are a Southeastern culture people of Native Americans, originally from Alabama. They were members of the Muscogee Creek Confederacy, a loose trade and military organization of autonomous towns; their home lands were on the upper Alabama River.
The Alabama and closely allied Coushatta people migrated from Alabama and Mississippi to the area of Texas in the late 18th century and early 19th century, under pressure from European-American settlers to the east. They essentially merged and shared reservation land. Although the tribe was terminated in the 1950s, it achieved federal recognition in 1987 as the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas. Its 1,137 members have about 4,500 acres (18 km2) of reservation.
The Alabama-Quassarte Tribal Town is a federally recognized tribe, headquartered in Wetumka, Oklahoma.
Language
The Alabama language is part of the Muskogean language family. Alabama is closely related to Koasati and distantly to Hitchiti, Chickasaw and Choctaw. Also known as Alibamu. An estimated 100 speakers, primarily from Texas, still speak the language.

How the moon affects the tides?/ Space camp 2019
Hello, my name is Camila and now I will explain briefly how the moon influence the tides. The moon like the sun has gravity and it directly affects the tides. The difference between both is that the moon is closer than the sun of the Earth, this is why the moon has more influence. Gravity attracts the water of the oceans but also the whole Earth, and by inertia produces that on earth different levels of tides. The tides depend on the moon phases this makes them not be always the same. When the moon aligns with the sun, gravity multiplies and produces larger tides. When this happens, they are called live tides. When they are not aligned, they are called dead tides.

The goal of this session is to equip individuals and professionals (mental health counselors, school counselors, educators, volunteers, etc.) with the knowledge and skills to address implicit bias in counseling, education, and various institutions within our society. Dr. Crook will focus on raising awareness about the concept of implicit bias and how it plays a role in facilitating racism and oppression within our society. The notion of implicit bias will be explored by deconstructing its components and through highlighting how it manifests within various institutions within our society. Ways in which it negatively impacts racial minorities and all Americans will be highlighted. Finally, strategies for reducing implicit bias at the individual level will be explored and put forward.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:
Dr. Tylon Crook, a national certified counselor, is currently a core faculty member within Walden University’s School of Counseling. He earned his master’s degree in mental health/school counseling from Mississippi State University and his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Auburn University. Dr. Crook’s research agenda includes topics such as spirituality and depression among African American men, social justice advocacy, implicit bias in counseling and education, and the school-to-prison pipeline and African American boys. In addition, Dr. Crook travels the country providing professional development in the areas of but not limited to school counseling program development, social justice, multiculturalism, and mental health issues within the African American community. He can also be found engaged in motivational speaking within schools and communities across the country. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Crook is also a member of numerous organizations, most notably Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) and the American School Counselor Association where he serves on sub-committees within the organization. As a life long learner and fierce proponent of education, equity, and justice, Dr. Crook lives by his fraternity’s motto of “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.”

Principal photography took place in late 1993, mainly in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Extensive visual effects were used to incorporate Hanks into archived footage and to develop other scenes. The soundtrack features songs reflecting the different periods seen in the film.
Forrest Gump was released in the United States on July 6, 1994 and received favorable reviews for Zemeckis' directing, Sinise and Hanks' performances, the visual effects, the music and the screenplay. Hello, my name is Camila and now I will explain briefly how the moon influence the tides. The moon like the sun has gravity and it directly affects the tides. The difference between both is that the moon is closer than the sun of the Earth, this is why the moon has more influence. Gravity attracts the water of the oceans but also the whole Earth, and by inertia produces that on earth different levels of tides. The tides depend on the moon phases this makes them not be always the same. When the moon aligns with the sun, gravity multiplies and produces larger tides. When this happens, they are called live tides. When they are not aligned, they are called dead tides.

We welcomed Dr. Tylon Crook to the NAMI Virtual Forum for his presentation of "In pursuit of Justice, Equality, and Equity by Reducing the Impact of Implicit Bias" on Thursday, August 27th at 7:00 PM on Zoom.
The goal of this session is to equip individuals and professionals (mental health counselors, school counselors, educators, volunteers, etc.) with the knowledge and skills to address implicit bias in counseling, education, and various institutions within our society. Dr. Crook will focus on raising awareness about the concept of implicit bias and how it plays a role in facilitating racism and oppression within our society. The notion of implicit bias will be explored by deconstructing its components and through highlighting how it manifests within various institutions within our society. Ways in which it negatively impacts racial minorities and all Americans will be highlighted. Finally, strategies for reducing implicit bias at the individual level will be explored and put forward.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:
Dr. Tylon Crook, a national certified counselor, is currently a core faculty member within Walden University’s School of Counseling. He earned his master’s degree in mental health/school counseling from Mississippi State University and his doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Auburn University. Dr. Crook’s research agenda includes topics such as spirituality and depression among African American men, social justice advocacy, implicit bias in counseling and education, and the school-to-prison pipeline and African American boys. In addition, Dr. Crook travels the country providing professional development in the areas of but not limited to school counseling program development, social justice, multiculturalism, and mental health issues within the African American community. He can also be found engaged in motivational speaking within schools and communities across the country. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Crook is also a member of numerous organizations, most notably Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) and the American School Counselor Association where he serves on sub-committees within the organization. As a life long learner and fierce proponent of education, equity, and justice, Dr. Crook lives by his fraternity’s motto of “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.”
