Nowadays I am getting a lot of questions about what to do about a trip to Leh Ladakh in 2021 September or Spiti Valley in 2021 September with all the landslides news, flashflood news, covid restrictions, permit updates, taxi union strikes, or corona curfews restrictions going on in these places in the Himalayas.
Many travelers are asking about should they plan the trip to Leh Ladakh in September 2021 or their trip to Spiti Valley trip in September 2021, should they wait for more for things to settle, what are the covid-19 guidelines of Leh Ladakh trip, what are the Covid rules and restrictions when traveling to Ladakh or Spiti Valley in September 2021, what are some of the hardships do travelers will have to face or what are the current Leh Ladakh road status updates, Spiti Valley road status updates, etc.
Even there are new rules of inner line permits for Leh Ladakh that you no longer need Inner Line Permits in Ladakh and only need to pay Ladakh Ecology Fee.

You don't really need to pack half your house if travelling for two weeks to Ladakh - not that there is anything wrong with it.
Here's an example of minimalist packing on a Royal Enfield Himalayan, that doesn't upset the dynamics of your motorcycle much and let's you enjoy your bike for what it is, a light weight travel companion.
The more things you carry on your bike, the more you have to unload and reload. And believe me, it is no fun.

The changpas are a tribe of semi-nomadic people who live in Changthang, the high altitude plains of Ladakh and northern Tibet. Crops do not grow at these high altitudes, so the Changpas survive by raising goats and yaks. It is a hard life as they spend almost every moment days taking care of their animals and processing their produce.

Ladakh
Ladakh ("land of high passes") (Ladakhi: ལ་དྭགས la'dwags; Hindi: लद्दाख़; Urdu: لَدّاخ) is a region in the Indian Administered Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kuen Lun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet.
Historically, the region included the Baltistan (Baltiyul) valleys (now mostly in Pakistan), the entire upper Indus Valley, the remote Zanskar, Lahaul and Spiti to the south, much of Ngari including the Rudok region and Guge in the east, Aksai Chin in the northeast (extending to the Kun Lun Mountains), and the Nubra Valley to the north over Khardong La in the Ladakh Range. Contemporary Ladakh borders Tibet to the east, the Lahaul and Spiti regions to the south, the Vale of Kashmir, Jammu and Baltiyul regions to the west, and the southwest corner of Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the far north. Ladakh is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and culture. Aksai Chin is one of the disputed border areas between China and India. It is administered by China as part of Hotan County but is also claimed by India as a part of the Ladakh region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In 1962, China and India fought a brief war over Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh, but in 1993 and 1996 the two countries signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control.

Many travelers are asking about should they plan the trip to Leh Ladakh in September 2021 or their trip to Spiti Valley trip in September 2021, should they wait for more for things to settle, what are the covid-19 guidelines of Leh Ladakh trip, what are the Covid rules and restrictions when traveling to Ladakh or Spiti Valley in September 2021, what are some of the hardships do travelers will have to face or what are the current Leh Ladakh road status updates, Spiti Valley road status updates, etc.

Here's an example of minimalist packing on a Royal Enfield Himalayan, that doesn't upset the dynamics of your motorcycle much and let's you enjoy your bike for what it is, a light weight travel companion.
The more things you carry on your bike, the more you have to unload and reload. And believe me, it is no fun.

It is a hard life as they spend almost every moment days taking care of their animals and processing their produce.

Nowadays I am getting a lot of questions about what to do about a trip to Leh Ladakh in 2021 September or Spiti Valley in 2021 September with all the landslides news, flashflood news, covid restrictions, permit updates, taxi union strikes, or corona curfews restrictions going on in these places in the Himalayas.
Many travelers are asking about should they plan the trip to Leh Ladakh in September 2021 or their trip to Spiti Valley trip in September 2021, should they wait for more for things to settle, what are the covid-19 guidelines of Leh Ladakh trip, what are the Covid rules and restrictions when traveling to Ladakh or Spiti Valley in September 2021, what are some of the hardships do travelers will have to face or what are the current Leh Ladakh road status updates, Spiti Valley road status updates, etc.
Even there are new rules of inner line permits for Leh Ladakh that you no longer need Inner Line Permits in Ladakh and only need to pay Ladakh Ecology Fee.

You don't really need to pack half your house if travelling for two weeks to Ladakh - not that there is anything wrong with it.
Here's an example of minimalist packing on a Royal Enfield Himalayan, that doesn't upset the dynamics of your motorcycle much and let's you enjoy your bike for what it is, a light weight travel companion.
The more things you carry on your bike, the more you have to unload and reload. And believe me, it is no fun.

The changpas are a tribe of semi-nomadic people who live in Changthang, the high altitude plains of Ladakh and northern Tibet. Crops do not grow at these high altitudes, so the Changpas survive by raising goats and yaks. It is a hard life as they spend almost every moment days taking care of their animals and processing their produce.

Ladakh
Ladakh ("land of high passes") (Ladakhi: ལ་དྭགས la'dwags; Hindi: लद्दाख़; Urdu: لَدّاخ) is a region in the Indian Administered Jammu and Kashmir that currently extends from the Kuen Lun mountain range to the main Great Himalayas to the south, inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions in Jammu and Kashmir and its culture and history are closely related to that of Tibet.
Historically, the region included the Baltistan (Baltiyul) valleys (now mostly in Pakistan), the entire upper Indus Valley, the remote Zanskar, Lahaul and Spiti to the south, much of Ngari including the Rudok region and Guge in the east, Aksai Chin in the northeast (extending to the Kun Lun Mountains), and the Nubra Valley to the north over Khardong La in the Ladakh Range. Contemporary Ladakh borders Tibet to the east, the Lahaul and Spiti regions to the south, the Vale of Kashmir, Jammu and Baltiyul regions to the west, and the southwest corner of Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the far north. Ladakh is renowned for its remote mountain beauty and culture. Aksai Chin is one of the disputed border areas between China and India. It is administered by China as part of Hotan County but is also claimed by India as a part of the Ladakh region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. In 1962, China and India fought a brief war over Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh, but in 1993 and 1996 the two countries signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control.
