Book Suggestions
r/booksuggestions
Hello! I’m making a list of books I must read, would love to get peoples top three. Mine are:
Speaker for the dead
Childhoods end
1984
(Honorable mention: Man’s Search for Meaning)
Thank you for your help!
Looking for historical fiction or history fusion recommendations:
Preferably centering women (or with interesting female characters, eg Jonathan Strange)
Sexual content minimum (implied/offscreen sex okay as long as it's part of the story and not a constant thing)
Not with a lot of artificial modern sensibilities / "I'm not like other girls" / waiting for feminism to be invented, stuff that portrays the fact that women accomplished things within the constraints they had.
Thanks so much in advance!
Hello reddit. I'm 8 months pregnant and lack some reading motivation. I think a good book about anything portraying or talking about mother - son relationship would light that spark for me. Any ideas about such books ? Doesn't have to be the main theme.
Pls don't recommend "we need to talk about Kevin ".. not falling for that one again.🤨
I don't want satire that uses humour as a tool to highlight a societal evil or similar problems, i want just want some plain happy, funny books with no unnecessary depth, books that feel like a bright sunny day and childlike innocence, the latter two aren't necessary, just any books that are funny for the sake of it
I just finished reading Educated by Tara Westover (super recommended) the only bad thing is that is soooo good that now the books I have on my list no longer seem interesting. Have you read something similar that you can recommend to me?
I'm asking for a friend. they unfortunately they can't use reddit. they ask: Does anyone wrote or know books about these two kind of stories :
Sci-fi character in medieval fantasy world
Sci-fi existence wielding the power of necromancy in medieval fantasy world
Any books recommendation about those type would be appreciated since I wanna read something like that
