Dude, use the Match-Thread like everyone else.

I mean, we've literally never banned anyone for saying that Thomas Partey is absolute trash, so I'm not quite sure where you got that from.

Happy guys? by [deleted] in Gunners

[Chris Wheatley] Arsenal are once again pushing to sign Aaron Ramsdale. Talks have reopened and there is renewed confidence a deal can be done before end of the window. Potential deal is likely to be £20m plus add-ons, with SUFC keen to sell the GK this summer. by BenjaminDaaly21 in Gunners

Well, for flairs, I can't really give you an answer as I didn't make it.

I would imagine, knowing the other mods as I do (well, as well as you can know a bunch of strangers on the internet) it was likely as joke.

If it wasn't a joke, then yes, it's obviously petulant and silly. It's also a bit shit for a mod to call out anyone on the sub for no reason, especially when they're only posting a thread.

But, as I said, I can't honestly tell you if it was a joke or someone trying to stir some shit, so that's kind of the best I can give you.

We're not moaning about not getting our arses kissed. We genuinely don't give a shit. Stuff gets reported enough times, it gets removed, it's simple really.

The post was reported to us a few times and the person doesn't appear in the tier listing. Kind of makes our minds up for us.

The Sheffield United sub's post on the article has these comments:

Do you know what tier Shields is considered to be among Sheffield supporters?

Sheffield fc? Too far down

Wednesday? Not a chance

United? He’s alright the local journalists used to be close with wilder not sure about now.

The another commentator says that he's a trusted source but that he's only saying that Arsenal are interested, something Arsenal fans who use this sub have known ever since we had our last bid rejected.

Regardless of the information in the article and whether it's right or wrong, it's removed because the person in question doesn't appear on our tier listing, a tier listing that this sub voted on. The sub also voted that we remove tier 4 or below sources from the sub, which we did.

The reason we "won’t say he was in the wrong" is because the thread was removed in line with the sub's rules. We literally only exist to enforce the sub's rules. It's the most pathetic source of power afforded to a user of this website and makes us about as interesting as a day at a barrel factory, but we uphold rules on the sub and if something breaks the rules, we remove it, sometimes, shit slips through the cracks or we miss something. We're a bunch of morons who do this shit for free in our spare time, sometimes we get it wrong, it's really not that big a deal. Not only that, we're not omniscient, so if people want to help out, report stuff (which again, people did with the aforementioned post) and don't tag us.

Also, if people could stop sending us paragraphs of abuse and various threats because we removed a post in line with the sub's rules, that would be awesome.

Not really.

The original thread was deleted because it wasn't a journalist that appears on the tier ranking system and the publication they work for is tier 4 or below, which we have said in multiple rule reminders at the beginning of transfer windows, that we don't allow.

Every time we allow a Tier 4 or lower post to stay up, we get tagged or DM'd abuse because we left it up, we take it down and people start to cry in earnest because we dared remove it.

We left this one up, because it's from an Arsenal journalist, one who has reported on the story before and one who actually appears on the ranking list.

People can moan about how we're literally the worst thing since the invention of theatre if they like, but we just enforce rules, rules that this sub actually voted on! This sub voted on the tier system and so we keep posts up from people that appear on the list or if their publication is high enough on the list, as we always have done.

Also to be fair, the amount of abuse the mod team has been receiving from members of the sub (as is customary when Arsenal lose) in the last few days, has led to us trying to uphold the rules as best we can so we don't get even more.

Not really worth doing a huge post for, but I'll say it here anyway, please stop posting Wikipedia edits.

They're banned on the sub, they're always removed (when we get round to it), pretty much everyone on the sub hates them and they're not funny.

Please, for the love of God, stop posting shitty Wikipedia edits.

Mod Team Update - Our Arsenal Partnership by Darkxler in soccer

[–]BenjaniMaples 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Fuck it, might as well reply.

As a mod on /r/Gunners, I can confidently say no, we didn't. We never ever asked the club for AMAs.

The club approached us about a partnership and we made suggestions to go along with theirs, with AMAs being something they put forward and us agreeing to it, since we didn't think to ask for them, because we assumed they'd say no.

They gave us these AMAs and then they would contact us to arrange them whenever the players happened to have free-time or whenever it coincided with the player's allocated media time.

We never asked for AMAs and we still don't, they were something that the club were happy to provide us with and something they always approached us with.

Also, I say "we", but I mean /u/J4ckrh, who was the one who organised them with the club.
