At Saturday’s disastrous “Unite the Right” rally, several prominent white nationalists ended up on the receiving end of pepper spray canisters before being ordered to leave. One of them, NPI leader and rejected Animal House villain Richard Spencer, was furious, and vowed he would return to torment Charlottesville once again.

In a Periscope video posted shortly after the rally, Spencer, skin still burning from police and Antifa pepper spray, angrily declared that treatment of him and his compatriots was “absolutely outrageous.”

“I cannot believe that I was in a situation where, when we were entering a park in order to lawfully and — to peacefully and lawfully assemble — that I was actually attacked by these Communist gutter punks,” he complained. “I was actually maced in the face by them.”

What was worse to Spencer, however, was his treatment at the hands of law enforcement — either state police or the National Guard. Spencer launched into a tirade against Charlottesville Mayor Michael Signer, whose name he repeatedly mispronounced.

He declared that he was “outraged at this Mayor Singer [sic] or Mayor Signer” and Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy, whom Spencer called a “house you-know-what” and “the little pet of white people.”

“And if you think that we’re gonna back down to this kind of behavior by you and your little provincial town, you think we’re gonna back down? No,” he warned, “We are gonna make Charlottesville the center of the universe. We are gonna come back here often. Your head’s gonna spin how many times we’re gonna be back here. We are absolutely never backing down.”

Spencer continued, sounding more and more like a petulant child than a key player in the white nationalist movement, stating that Signer and Bellamy looked like “absolute fools” and “stupid little provincial tyrants who don’t understand the law.”

“And we’re gonna make even more of a fool of you when we’re back here.”

That was absolutely outrageous. I cannot believe that I was in a situation where, when we were entering a park in order to lawfully and — to peacefully and lawfully assemble — that I was actually attacked by these Communist gutter punks. I was actually maced in the face by them.

But the worst part of it is that when we were entrapped in the park and the state of emergency was called, and the police started pushing us back, I was maced by a policeman. It might’ve been the National Guard, I’ll have to find out later. But I was maced by federal authorities for legally and peacefully demonstrating.

I did not come to Charlottesville to aggress against anyone. I did not come to punch anyone. I did not come to attack Antifa. I do not give a shit about Antifa, they disgust me. They are the worst losers I’ve ever seen in my life. They are freaks. I don’t care about them. I try to avoid them.

I came here to speak my mind, to talk about our movement’s ideas. And I was attacked by, what I think are federal police, they were militarized policemen who were using riot shields, they’re kicking us underneath the shields. Then I got maced in the face and all over my chest.

I am so outraged at this Mayor Singer [sic] or Mayor Signer — I don’t actually care how one should pronounce this little creep’s name — Wes Bellamy, his little BLM house you-know-what, ’cause that’s what Wes Bellamy is. He basically lives off white people feeling guilty. It’s not like he’s an actual black nationalist — I respect actual black nationalists.

Wes, you’re a little house you-know-what. Yeah, you’re the little pet of white people, basically. To assuage their white guilt so they can feel good about themselves. Do you actually think that anyone — do you think Mayor Singer [sic] or Signer or anyone actually respects you or thinks that you’re on their level? No they don’t. You’re their little cute little pet.

I would tell this to Mayor Signer and Wes Bellamy and everyone. You think that we’re backing down. We are in the right. We are so in the right that we were supported by the ACLU who, as we know, is very often a left-wing group. However, they were convinced by the rightness of our cause. They supported us.

This is how awful you are. This is how tyrannical both of you are acting. And if you think that we’re gonna back down to this kind of behavior by you and your little provincial town, you think we’re gonna back down? No. We are gonna make Charlottesville the center of the universe. We are gonna come back here often. Your head’s gonna spin how many times we’re gonna be back here. We are absolutely never backing down.

The fact that you treated us this way — the fact that you treated American citizens who were peacefully assembling in this way — is an absolute outrage. I have never been this offended in my life.

I actually was in a situation a few years ago where we were hosting a conference in Hungary, and it became controversial — the conference was scuttled, I actually got arrested. The fact is, I, at that time, was a tourist in another sovereign state. So at some point I can’t complain. I don’t really have rights in Hungary. Even though obviously I was peacefully assembling there too.

The fact is, I do have rights in this country. I am a citizen of this country. And you little creeps like Mayor Signer — Singer [sic] — and Wes Bellamy, the little house pet, you do not treat a U.S. citizen in this way. You absolutely do not have that right.

You think we’re gonna back down, you think we’re gonna cower and walk away, ‘Oh, I guess you guys won.’ No, you didn’t win. You looked like absolute fools to the entire world. You looked like stupid little provincial tyrants who don’t understand the law. That’s what you looked like. You think you won? You looked like complete fools. And we’re gonna make even more of a fool of you when we’re back here.
