I want a study on why the women have a better success rate of choosing a lasting partner 👀

“The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” have a mere 16% and 33% success rate, respectively. Yet no matter the gimmicks, countless crises or the amount of love-bombing and trauma dumping the franchise invokes, fans are still watching. huffpost.com/entry/bachelor

A 🧵: There’s a lot of pushback from evangelicals about spiritual or covenant friendships, chosen family, and celibate partnerships, typically using the accusation that they’re trying to create celibate marriages, as if marriage is the only type of committed relationship.

I held on to my (filled) prescription for three weeks before a Christian leader shared with me that they took it. It felt like permission despite stigma. If you need permission: take your meds. See a counselor. It’s a sign of great faith in a God who heals through many means.

Replying to @stenersonMN
I found that due to the length of time between reporting and the actual trial, it becomes unreasonable for victims to endure the criminal justice process. That made prosecuting domestic violence and sexual assault incredibly difficult.

We can’t have a discussion about why women don’t report without talking about how demeaning, probing, exploitive, confusing, and expensive it is to have to engage in the legal process as the victim of a crime.
