    What does it tell you when both the Oscars and the Grammys don't even mention in passing Lata Mangeshkar, certainly one of, if not the, greatest playbacks ever? It tells you that the West is racist. It also tells you that soft power means nothing if not backed with hard power.

    Important correction issued by my friend that Manoj George didn't actually win the Grammy but it was he & Stewart Copeland who did. The fine, talented Manoj seems to be among the 150 artists who were part of the album & they all belong to INDIA, not to one state or so!
