Here's one comp of songs collected from a Telegram group i used to be part of, few from Jpop80 but prob not much you might've heard from other blogs.
Not the kind of stuff i have a lot of cause with my tastes the gems are amongst so much uninteresting popular stuff it often isn't worth the trouble, but this was kind of an "Audiophile" group so rips were good and every one i kept made it worth listening to everything
For the story there's many songs/recordings i hear here and there in videos, films that i get obsessed about because i can't track them. One of those was a Don`t Leave Me This Way cover i heard in a video of just a guy driving in his car listening to the song, the piece was a banger, loved the funky bass.
Anyway spent hours downloading all the covers i could find to no avail.
So years later i discovered after someone posted it on the group (and i luckily was there to dl it) it was from this : https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/5566451-Various-Summer , private soul, uncredited in other words i never would've tracked it. Lucky me and lucky you check it in the comp and thanks to original uploader, not remembered but not forgotten
