    All the hyperventilating from Trumpist trolls in response to this post (claiming that content moderation=fascism) is a good example of the worst of social media. It’s corrosive tendencies should be curbed not amplified. Trump must never be allowed on Twitter again.

    I am frightened by the impact on society and politics if Elon Musk acquires Twitter. He seems to believe that on social media anything goes. For democracy to survive, we need more content moderation, not less.

    Hope this is right

    Elon Musk will not end up owning Twitter. Clear from filings & his last 2 weeks. He doesn’t have the cash to do the deal. Doesn’t have the financing. Has said he wants to eliminate ads on Twitter—that’s the revenue stream (& ads aren’t a Twitter ‘problem’). Why finance him?

    Update on the fate of cruiser Moskva. Russian defense ministry says the ship hasn’t sunk and efforts are under way to try to tow it to port. Ukraine’s Southern Command says it capsized and is “sinking.” Either way, it is gone as a military asset in this campaign.

    Begging Democrats to speak to one (1) person who did not attend college.

    We must do two things before the midterms. Cancel student debt and pass a bold climate package. That’s what I heard this week from young people in Galesburg, Rockford, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cambridge, and Orangeburg. Anyone who talks to young people will hear the same thing!

    You know whose probably most affected by the sinking of the Moskva? I would say China. Another example of how this war is shaking up the strategic calculus and will, hopefully, make countries think twice about starting wars in the future.
