Dont get me wrong, Volk's a beast but I'm still curious to see Volk face a grappling bulldog. That was just odd timing for Mendes. It was his 2nd fight after a 3-year layoff and had his foot out the door in hindsight. Still was competitive until he gassed out and completely gave up in the fight. So Volk fighting a grappler a weight up, regardless the memes, would be pretty fucking spicy.

I'm probably alone on this one but I think Nick deserves one last shot at resurrecting his career with the full backing of the UFC promotion machine. Word on the street was that the Lawler fight came together relatively quickly and he "only" had 8 weeks to prepare, which was a lot less than he wanted. When you're coming off an almost 7 year layoff, you're going to need more than 2 months to properly prepare.

If we are going on past performance, then Aljo was well on his way to losing to Yan if he wasn't a fucking blockhead. I'm just reading this as actually a lack of confidence, which has me concerned. Compare that to Gilbert Burns, who is completely honest in his assessment of Chimaev...and that's why he's training his dick off so he'll be extremely ready.

Saudi Arabia has an ambitious development project they are advertising all over YouTube that has a song I can track nothing down on. I dont know how the mods have been treating game recommendation posts recently, but I would recommend check Zee Garcia from the Dice Tower's reviews. I only have experience with the base game, but if it were me, I'd go with Perlae Imperii just because I don't think this game benefits from having an extra player.

Got to play a shortened game before having to go out this past weekend and gotta say, what a welcome throwback! Even beyond the retro look, Pan Am feels like an old-school board game. I'd imagine it'd be like the 20th edition of Monopoly if they kept evolving the mechanics.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but as it fucking should. It shouldn't be confusing why popularity and excitement matter in a sport like this. I don't want to watch Damian Maia backpack someone for 25 minutes, I want to see him choke the shit out of them. I don't want to see Stephen Thompson point fight. I want to see him wheelkick Jake Ellenberger into next year.
